Perfect for inspecting ports, circuit boards, connectors, and serial numbers. Generally better when used without the specula for these purposes I find.

This is a really excellent product and great value for money. What's more, delivery time is super fast - mine arrived the very next day!
I originally bought one of these to check my son's ears as it's not always obvious when kids have an ear infection until its a bit too late! I found it really easy to use and you don't even have to use the specula on the end to see that an ear needs medical attention.
I then found it was useful for so many other things - like checking for sore throats and removing tiny splinters and prickles. We also use it for non medical purposes like seeing small electronic parts and even to help thread a needle. It's so useful I couldn't do without mine now!
(BTW They also make fantastic baby shower gifts.)

This otoscope was perfect for me. I didn't want to pay a huge amount of money for a top of the range otoscope when all I wanted to do was keep an eye on my children's ears, yet I wanted to buy something that still gave me a clear view. This otoscope was worth the money, I have no regrets.
